In 1899, a ginseng processing company was founded under the auspices of the Imperial Korean House, but remained private. In 1908, the Korean government founded the Tobacco Monopoly Company, and in 1952, the two organizations merged. In the middle of the last century, South Korea began to produce cigarettes for export; they successfully compete with Western brands. In 1989, the Korean corporation Tomorrow&Global was created.

In the early 90s, the manufacturer successfully found its niche in foreign tobacco markets and began importing products to the former republics of the USSR. There was clearly a shortage of tobacco products and Korean cigarettes found their audience.

Twenty years ago, the company merged with Celtrion, which was engaged in biotechnical development, and became known as KT&G. Now the company creates different superslim flavors and classic types with tobacco flavor.
